Leadership

Dr. Valerie Ivy, Principal

Valerie IvyPoplar Bluff High School consists of a student population nearing 1,400 young adults, and our nearly 100 certified and classified staff members are dedicated to providing the best educational experience for each student that walks on our campus.  Our intentions are to establish positive relationships with our students and create an environment that is focused on learning.

We have many resources available to help any student wanting to reach the important milestone of graduation. We offer dual credit courses through our partnership with Three Rivers College, advanced placement courses, before and after school tutoring, daily advisory classes, night school, the Missouri Options Program, on-site credit recovery (ICU), Graduation Center credit recovery, the Bright Futures partnership, as well as vocational courses on site and at the Technical Career Center.

Student engagement (Capturing Kids’ Hearts), student literacy (PBWrites), creating a collaborative environment (Professional Learning Community) and differentiated instruction (1:1 digital transformation) are the four areas of focus on our campus. We believe that if we can fully implement our plan to address these important areas, our students will perform at high levels, become leaders in our community and gain an appreciation for life-long learning.

PBHS is proud to have the responsibility of helping to create the future of the Poplar Bluff community, and we do not take that responsibility lightly.
